Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day

Micro-, Small and Medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of many economies worldwide and play an especially vital role in developing countries. According to the International Council for Small Business, they make up 90% of all firms and 60-70% of all employment internationally. These types of enterprises also tend to employ more vulnerable populations such as women, youth, and people from lower income or poorer households. It’s also more common for them to have women in executive positions or boards. Thus, they are vital to reducing inequalities and improving the workplace in all societies.
